Frequently Asked Questions about the Volunteer Portal
New Updates and How They Might Affect You
To help us manage volunteer registrations, we have built a dedicated volunteer portal for the Western Intercollegiate, using an outside service called Get Connected by Galaxy Digital.
You may have noticed that you have a new way of signing in to volunteer. Our service provider has upgraded their overall system with new features, which requires a change to how user profiles are managed. For example, one new feature allows you to join other volunteer sites that use the same service, so that you can find even more volunteer opportunities.
Here are some common questions and solutions:
How do I sign in?
Click "Login" and enter your email address and password. You will be asked to verify your email address. Check your email, copy and paste the code from your email, and then continue.

What if I don’t get the verification email?
Check to make sure that your email address is correct. Then, check your spam folder. If you still are not able to sign in, contact us and we will troubleshoot with you.
Why do I have to reset my password?
As part of the upgrade, the system needs to update all user profiles, so this is step is needed to re-secure your account properly.
I've verified my email and reset my password. Why do I have to log in again?
This is the system's way of confirming that your account settings have been locked in.
Okay, I've signed in. How do I sign up for my preferred volunteer spot(s)?
Once you have logged in, you will see that the volunteer portal looks the same as before, so you can get to the volunteer listings by selecting "Opportunities" in the left navigation. Click on the Opportunities that interest you, and click "Respond" to register for your preferred shift(s).
Note: If you're flexible about your shift assignments, we now have a separate opportunity listing for Walking Scorers with no preference. We will assign these folks where we have the greatest need and provide specifics when we confirm the assignment, accommodating special requests as best we can.
How do I find other places to volunteer?
If you want to volunteer with another organization, search for their volunteer website. If they are using Get Connected (the same service that we use), then you can click "Sign In", enter your current email and password, and start volunteering.
